For FC St. Gallen it was a weekend to quickly forget: first the defeat against PhD candidate Yverdon – and now this: central defender Abdoulaye Diaby (23) sustained an injury in Vaud and will be out for at least three weeks.
As the FCSG reports, the 1.98 meter tall defender from Mali suffered several injuries against Yverdon: a torn ligament on his right ankle, a strain of the inner ligament of his right knee and a minor bone bruise.
Diaby joined Espen from Hungary this summer and immediately established himself as a regular in the defensive line thanks to his strength and power in tackling. For Peter Zeidler, his absence of a week will be particularly painful. (sbe)
