Big win against Austria: respectable success for the Swiss baseball team at the European Championships

In their very first participation in the European Championship, Switzerland achieved a top 12 ranking – partly thanks to their strong thrower James Sanders.

The Swiss national baseball team’s first participation in the European Championship has been successful so far. Head coach Chris Byrnes’ team won the first of three qualifying matches against Austria 9-2 in Brno.

This means that Switzerland finishes the tournament in the top 12 and qualifies directly for the 2025 European Championship, while its neighboring country plays against relegation.
