Ajax falls into chaos.

There were wild scenes in Amsterdam on Sunday: The hard core of the Ajax fans ensured that the match was stopped when the score was 0-3 in the Dutch classic against Feyenoord. Several times, burning pyro flares land on the lawn and street fights take place with the police outside the stadium.

After the scandal, the matter seems clear: Feyenoord is chosen as the winner at the green table. But now the association has taken a surprising decision. Instead of a score of 0:3 against Ajax, the match is moved and continued as a ghost match from the moment it was abandoned (55th minute) with the score at 0:3. A similar case occurred some time ago in the second highest division, when a match was resumed despite being cancelled.

Ajax threatens with urgent action

The classic is scheduled for next Wednesday. The problem: Then Ajax would actually take action against FC Volendam. Volendam does not like the fact that a new date has to be found for this meeting at the expense of the canceled scandal match. Club chairman Jan Smit (37) condemns the decision as a “distortion of competition”.

And Ajax doesn’t agree with that either. The Dutch record champion would like to play the match against Feyenoord in November and instead play against Volendam on Wednesday. Both clubs are now threatening the association with urgent legal action. (sbe)
