Dorian Coninx reaches the finish and becomes world champion for the first time.

Frenchman Dorian Coninx secured the world title in the Olympic distance with a victory in the grand final of the World Triathletes Championships. The 29-year-old only goes into the last race of the season fifth overall, but surprisingly overtakes all competitors. Coninx succeeds his compatriot Léo Bergère as world champion.

The two Swiss who have qualified for the season finale miss the top 20 in the daily rankings. Simon Westermann is 25th, 2:13 minutes behind, Sylvain Fridelance is 40th (SDA)
