Baby news from the far north. A few weeks after Kjetil Jansrud (38), Henrik Kristoffersen (29) and Aksel Lund Svindal (40), Nina Haver Loeseth (34) is also happy with the addition to her family.
The youngest member of the Norwegian ski family is called Otto, as his mother revealed on Instagram, and was born on Monday. For Haver-Loeseth and her husband Herman Haver Mathiesen, it is the second son after Henry (2). The two have been married since 2017.
“Very beautiful!! Congratulations!!», Wendy Holdener (30) reacts to the news, topped with a red heart. She is not the only active or retired ski racer who congratulates her former competitor. Also Anna Veith (34), Frida Hansdotter (37) and Resi Stiegler (37) congratulate under the photos showing Haver-Loeseth and her two children.
Two wins and Olympic bronze
Haver-Loeseth specialized in the technical disciplines of slalom and giant slalom during her career. She competed in 166 World Cup races and celebrated two victories (a slalom in 2006 and a city event in 2008). In total she appeared on stage eight times. With Norway she also won the bronze medal in the team competition at the 2018 Olympic Games in Pyeongchang (South Korea).
In March 2020, Haver-Loeseth, who was repeatedly slowed down by injuries, ended her career. “I’m looking forward to a new everyday life, to a more ‘normal’ life,” she said at the time. “There is a sea of possibilities. And I will definitely find something that I enjoy doing and do with passion.” Three and a half years later, Haver-Loeseth is the mother of two children. And certainly with passion. (beer)
