When the 2023/24 Champions League season starts next week, Blue Sport will have a new TV expert at the table: Didi Hamann (50). The Volketswil ZH pay channel signs the former German star player of FC Bayern Munich and Liverpool FC.
“As a “Blue Sport” expert I will have a clear opinion, I will say things as I see them. However, it is never anything personal, for me it is always about the matter, about football itself. My motto is that what I say on television, I would say to people’s faces,” Hamann said in a press release.
Strong criticism of the summer
Yann Sommer (34), among others, had to endure razor-sharp criticism last season. When Bayern lost the first leg in the quarter-finals 3-0 at Manchester City in April with Sommer between the posts, Hamann criticized as a Sky expert: “For me, the goalkeeper was hopelessly overwhelmed today.” Sommer left Bayern in August.
