Descendants of the Norwegian skiing family! After Kjetil Jansrud (38) became a father at the end of June and Henrik Kristoffersen (29) in mid-July, it is now the turn of Aksel Lund Svindal (40). The former skier and his girlfriend, athlete Amalie Iuel (29), became parents for the first time on September 1.
The two, who have been a couple since 2020, share a sweet snap of their son on Instagram. “Welcome to this world, Storm,” the new parents also directly reveal his name. Storm saw the light of day on September 1. After a rough few days in the hospital, Mama Amalie is resting while Papa Aksel is “very, very proud”. For the two, “Storm is of course the most beautiful thing we’ve ever seen”.
First training date

Cancer shock a year ago
About a year ago, Svindal announced less good news on social media. He announced that he had testicular cancer. Since he quickly went to the doctor after noticing a change, the treatment could be started in a timely manner. “Tests, scans and the surgery all went quickly,” he wrote at the time. “And after the first week I knew the prognosis was very good.”
Now one of the most successful skiers of all time is enjoying daddy happiness. The Norwegian won the small crystal ball in downhill (2x), super-G (5x), giant slalom and combined, and the overall World Cup twice (2006/07 and 2008/09).
