No national team member of staff has caused as much discussion this year as Yann Sommer (34). In the winter he moved to Bayern Munich, replacing the injured Manuel Neuer (37). It wasn’t long before he was met with fierce criticism. The goalkeeper has since left Munich for Milan.
But now Nati coach Murat Yakin (48) returns in an interview with “Sport1” to Sommer’s time with the German record champion. “Yann was pulled by a slingshot,” he rumbles against Bayern Munich. Sommer did not deserve this treatment. “He fell victim to a mechanism that only occurs at Bayern.”
‘It wasn’t easy before the summer’
