The evidence is mounting. Ardon Jashari (20) is approaching FC Basel in small steps. The fact that the FCL sells its captain within Switzerland no longer seems entirely unrealistic. According to information from Blick, sports director Remo Meyer is trying to negotiate the highest possible transfer fee.

And Jashari himself makes it clear that he wants to go. “I have decided with my advisor and my family that now is the time to make the switch. We have thought carefully about what the path should be like and where it leads. We have come to the conclusion that I want to stay in Switzerland. I am convinced that at FCB I can take another step in football,” he told the “Luzerner Zeitung”.

The captain of FCL demands his club to negotiate with FCB. “FCB showed me that they really want me. You have given me the same role as in the FCL, that of top performer and leader. Just stay one step up in a bigger club,” says Jashari.

Jashari trains individually

For the Nati player, the current excitement about him comes as a surprise. “When the contract was signed, everything was clear. The FCL management assured me that they would support me if I ever wanted to change. But then the club’s dispute with Alpstaeg began in the fall of last year. Then it got political – and they fought the power struggle partly on my back. Now I feel like a pawn again.”

If the clubs still agree, Jashari will probably be the most expensive national transfer. So far, Zeki Amdouni is the most expensive. FCB transferred 4 million francs to Lausanne a few months ago.

Jashari was in the Allmend on Wednesday morning. However, he did not train with the rest of the team, instead completing an individual program after being ill the day before.
