Marcel Hug leaves the World Cup in Paris as a three-time world champion. After his triumphs over 5000 m and 1500 m, the 37-year-old is also unbeatable over 800 m. It was the toughest race of this World Championship, Hug said, but he got off to a good start and was able to pick up the pace at the end. “I gave it my all again and luckily it worked out,” says Hug, who ends the World Cup as the third most successful athlete – behind his two teammates Catherine Debrunner and Manuela Schär, who took home five and four medals respectively.
