Bad image at the Tour de France: many riders crash 130 km before the finish.

The mass fall happens again in the early stages of the stage. On the way to Annecy and further into the Mont Blanc mountains south of Switzerland, the field rolls through a village 130km from the finish when a spectator’s arm hits Sepp Kuss (28). The Jumbo Visma driver is at the very front of the field and takes many drivers with him.

However, it’s not his fault. Just as Kuss rides on, the viewer lowers his raised arm and unseats the American. The viewer was probably filming.

Annoying, because unlike the day before, the fall could have been easily prevented. The fans are repeatedly urged by the tour not to take to the streets. This instruction was again violated, although there was probably no intention behind it.

About 30 riders fell on Saturday due to the wet road surface. After all, the consequences are not so serious on Sunday. While Saturday’s race has now been neutralized and top riders such as Romain Bardet and Louis Meintjes had to give up, all fallen athletes can continue on Sunday. (str)
