Jake Dennis (Andretti) finishes the ninth podium in Formula E in the 14th race of the season, setting a record.

The Briton, who started from pole position, wins the Andretti victory ahead of Frenchman Norman Nato in a Nissan and compatriot Sam Bird in a Jaguar. Directly behind them are Edoardo Mortara (36, Maserati) and Sébastien Buemi (34, Envision-Jaguar), who just missed out on the first Swiss podium in the 14th race of the season. In tenth place in the streets of the Italian capital, Nico Müller (31) also scored a championship point in the Abt Cupra.

With his second win of the season, Dennis replaces Buemi’s teammate Nick Cassidy at the top of the championship. The New Zealander finished 14th and clearly missed out on the points after being involved in a collision with his compatriot Mitch Evans early in the race. The previous day’s winner flew spectacularly over Cassidy’s stern.

Dennis can already secure his first world title on his own in the first of two remaining races at the season finale in London in two weeks. The 28-year-old needs a win for that. (SDA)
