Qualifying for the Conference League will be a difficult task for Vaduz.

FC Vaduz started the European Cup season on Thursday evening. The first leg of the Conference League qualification is not going according to plan for the Liechtensteiners. FCV enters the second leg with a mortgage.

Vaduz lost the match against Belarusian representative Neman Grodno 1:2. This after the team coached by Martin Stocklasa was initially able to take the lead.

Fabrizio Cavegn made it 1-0 for the home team in the 22nd minute against very defensive Belarusians. But you cannot be satisfied with the leadership in the “Ländle” for long. Barely seven minutes later, Grodno striker Igor Zubovich equalized for the guests.

Second stage in Hungary

In the final phase, Alimardon Shukurow makes things even worse for Vaduz. Eight minutes before regular time, Grodno is richly rewarded for a modest performance. For Vaduz, on the other hand, qualifying in the second leg will be an even more difficult task.

The Liechtensteiners have the chance to take revenge in a week. Due to the war of aggression in Ukraine, the game takes place in Györ, Hungary. (cat)
