Pirmin Schwegler has been promoted to head of professional football at Bundesliga club Hoffenheim. The former Swiss international only joined the management team at the beginning of this year and has held the position of “Head of Licensed Football and Football Cooperation” ever since. The central Swiss previously worked at Bayern Munich as a chief scout.
As a player, Schwegler played for Hoffenheim between 2014 and 2017. In his career, the defensive midfielder has played almost exclusively in Germany since 2006, for Leverkusen, Frankfurt, Hoffenheim and Hanover. After a year-long trip to Australia, to Western Sydney, the ex-Lucerne junior ended his career and joined Bayern Munich in scouting. (NSA/SDA)
