The coach’s confirmation will serve as the initial signal for the announcement of the French champion’s transfer block
Luis Enrique will be unveiled as the new coach of Paris Saint-Germain this Wednesday morning. After weeks of speculation, the deal has been finalized between both parties and all that remains is for the statement to become official.
Yesterday, the Parisian club announced a press conference at its new training center located in Poissy, on the outskirts of the French capital. It will take place at 14:00 and can be followed live via various PSG platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and Twitch).
According to club sources, a new coach will be presented at the press conference to replace Christophe Galtier, whose contract will be terminated.
Newspaper website L’Equipe states that the former Spain manager, also a former Celta, Roma and Barcelona coach, will appear alongside PSG president Nasser Al Jalaifi a few days before the team returns to training next Monday after the bank holiday.
The French champion reached an agreement with Luis Enrique a few days ago, but it was still waiting for him to resolve Galtier’s departure and define the professional staff that will work with the Spanish coach.
After the arrival of Luis Enrique on the Parque de los Príncipes bench, it is expected that PSG will start making official the signings that they already have. Skriniar could be announced among the first, who will arrive in Paris as a free agent after leaving Inter.
Marco Asensio, Manuel Ugarte (they will pay 60 million for him), Kang-in Lee and Cher Ndour could be the next players to come to the club.
Marcelino García Toral, coach of Olympique Marseille, took Luis Enrique’s arrival in the French league for granted. “Who would have told us, two Asturians from Gijón, two Spaniards… one trains at PSG and the other at Olympique de Marseille,” he said yesterday during his presentation.
“I have great personal and professional respect for him. And I wish him the best, except when he plays against us,” he added about Luis Enrique, who would have been working on the squad with the president of the entity and Luis Campos for some time.
