Aline Danioth has not lost her smile.

At the beginning of March, Aline Danioth (25) was hit again by the injury witch. She tore her cruciate ligament for the fourth time. Yet the skier does not think about giving up. Even though the first days after that were difficult.

“I cried for a week,” she says in an interview with “CH Media”. “All emotions had to come out.” But then she realized that the tears didn’t change her situation and she pulled herself together. It wasn’t just family support that helped Danioth. Roger Federer (41) also played his role. “Get well soon and head on cmon,” he responded on Instagram.

“When I read his post, I almost couldn’t believe it,” says Danioth. His words would have given her as much strength as those of World Cup competitors. Danioth wants to keep fighting. Even though many people advise her to put a line under her career.

plans for the future

“It’s hard to judge from the outside if you don’t really know me,” she says. And clarifies to the “Tages-Anzeiger”: “If a manager gets burned out, I’m not saying that he should change jobs.” Only if her close ones advised her to resign would she think about it. Or if, according to doctors, she would endanger her health. “Then I would be the first to say: that’s it.”

“It would be the worst for me if I were financially dependent on my parents again.”Aline Danioth, skier

Although she wants to fight her way back to the top, Danioth is worried about what comes after her career – she has started Pilates training and is also interested in fitness and yoga coaching.

Not least because she panicked in March. “Do I have to go to the office to work tomorrow?” she wondered. Because their contracts are performance-based, an injury brings financial losses. Her biggest fear: “It would be the worst for me if I were financially dependent on my parents again.” If that happened, it would be clear to Danioth: “I would immediately end my career.”

Tanked in the US

Her focus is currently on rehabilitation. Before she had her cruciate ligament surgery, she regained her strength during a trip through the US. Everything was carefree there, the break was good for her mental health. Because Danioth didn’t go to a psychologist. But she works with a mental coach.

Now she wants to take everything step by step. “I’ve lost so many years in my career, so I don’t put pressure on myself.” Danioth’s next goal: “In three weeks I’ll be able to walk without crutches.” (bir)
