Martin Fuchs finished eighth on Lorde Do Belmonte in Aachen.

Two days after the team’s victory in the Nations Cup, the Swiss riders were unable to compete for the podium in the Grand Prix at CHIO Aachen. Martin Fuchs was the best Swiss rider eighth after a fall on the first lap, Steve Guerdat after a clear first stage and a bad second lap twelfth.

The Germans celebrated a triple victory in the 1.5 million euro test with Marcus Ehning, Daniel Deusser and Philipp Weishaupt.

The 59-year-old four-time Olympic champion Ludger Beerbaum announced the end of his sports career in Aachen after finishing 25th. (SDA)
