He collided with a rival at the end of the Formula Regional by Alpine European Championship (FRECA) race.
Dutch pilot Dilano van’t Hoff died this Saturday at the age of 18 as a result of a serious accident suffered at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Formula European Regional Championship (FRECA), which is celebrating its fourth round of the season at the Belgian circuit. “MP Motorsport is deeply saddened to confirm that our driver, Dilano van’t Hoff, has passed away as a result of an accident during the second race of the Formula One Alpine Regional Championship at Spa-Francorchamps,” his team confirmed.
During the last stage of the second race of the day, there was an accident at the entrance to the Kemmel Plain, where visibility was poor due to rain. Among those involved were the Swiss Joshua Dufek, the American Enzo Scionti, the Irishman Adam Fitzgerald and Van’t Hoff himself.
It was these last two who carried out the most serious action, with Fitzgerald brutally slamming, in the shape of the letter T, into the Dutchman’s car. Both were taken to the hospital, where Van’t Hoff died after being unable to overcome his injuries.
Van’t Hoff, who won the Spanish F4 Championship in 2021, was sixteenth in the FRECA general classification, in which he competed for the second consecutive year.
