About a month before the start of the first combined cycling world championships in Glasgow, Swiss Cycling says goodbye to track coach Mickaël Bouget.
The head coach has been fired by the Swiss cycling federation, former assistants Tristan Marguet and Julien Bossens take over responsibility on an interim basis. As Swiss Cycling announced, the necessary basis of trust between the head coach and the team has been missing in recent times.
Bouget was responsible for the men’s national team from summer 2018 to fall 2021 with Daniel Gisiger. From autumn 2021 until the merger of the men’s and women’s teams in summer 2022, he was solely responsible for the men’s team; afterwards he served as head of the mixed selection. (SDA)
