FC Luzern has hit the transfer market in recent days. The transfers of Kevin Spadanuda (26) and Teddy Okou (25) in particular made headlines. The return of homegrown talent and right back Dario Ulrich (25) was a bit disappointing.
De Schwyzer played for FC Vaduz the past two seasons. Now he returns to the training club, where he is intended as a backup for the seeded Severin Ottiger (20), who also comes from his own offspring and made his breakthrough last season.
Ulrich’s return campaign shows once again how much value the people of Lucerne place on their home-grown plants. “A third of the players must come from their own offspring”, is the motto of club president Stefan Wolf. The FCL easily complies with this. Despite the departure of Dejan Sorgic (33) and Lorik Emini (23), there are currently eleven: Pascal Loretz (20), Luca Jaquez (20), Leny Meyer (19), Mauricio Willimann (20), Marco Burch (22) , Ardon Jashari (20), Noah Rupp (19), Lars Villiger (20), Luuk Breedijk (19), Ottiger and Ulrich.
Lucerne dominates the Super League
The fact that the FCL dominates the Super League when it comes to youth work was recently shown by the final ranking of the training concept “Efficiency Criteria” of the Swiss Football League. This supports clubs that use many Swiss U21 players in their regular formation.
A total of one million francs will be distributed among teams with permanent U21 players in the Super and Challenge League. Thanks to the performances of Jashari, Ottiger, Loretz, Jaquez, Meyer and Ruben Fernandes, the FCL secured the largest share in the Super League with CHF 106,557. It is followed by St. Gallen with 94,262 francs and YB with 90,163 francs.
