“If Bledian continues like this, he will be in the A-Nati in a year and a half. He has all the qualities.” This August 2021 prediction from national record scorer and current Aarau coach Alex Frei (43) did not come true – Bledian Krasniqi is still waiting for a call from Murat Yakin (48). nothing to be ashamed of: the national title with FC Zurich in the summer of 2022 and participation in the U21 European Championship are not bad alternatives.
When Frei praised Krasniqi two years ago, his star was just rising on the big stage. After returning on loan from Wil, he started at his regular club FC Zurich and became an important part of André Breitenreiter’s (49) puzzle master – and a household name among Swiss football fans.
Krasniqi and the “Goal of the Month” at Blick

In his second season in Eastern Switzerland, Alex Frei became a trainer – and major sponsor of Krasniqi. “Alex is the person who has helped me the most in my career. He immediately understood me as a person and as a player. I owe the way I play now to him.” The original Basel player Frei made the original FCZ player Krasniqi (joined the club at the age of eight) fit for the championship title – that doesn’t happen every day.
