Nina Christen’s success on Friday and the first quota place for the Paris Olympics fueled the Swiss marksmen at the European Games: Chiara Leona, Audrey Gogniat and Nina Christen also won the 10m team competition.
In the very exciting final, the Swiss defeated their opponents from Norway with 16:14. After the first part of qualifying, the Swiss, where Audrey Gogniat made her debut with the elite, finished in 5th place. In the second part of qualifying, in which the final places were at stake, the Swiss really turned up the heat. Gogniat (209.4) and Chiara Leona (209.6) shot just as well as Nina Christen (209.5), Friday’s winner. The Swiss women moved up to second place and qualified for the final against Norway.
The air rifle competitions at the European Games do not count as European Championships. (SDA)
