Chris Froome is absent from the Tour de France this year.

Four-time overall winner Chris Froome will not compete in this year’s Tour de France. His Israel-Premier Tech team announced the selection on Friday, not taking the 38-year-old Briton into account. This season, the Tour winner of 2013, 2015, 2016 and 2017 had health problems.

In 2019, Froome crashed hard shortly before the tour, but last year he managed to finish third in the twelfth stage in Alpe d’Huez. At the beginning of this year, Froome’s team received one of two wildcards for this year’s Tour de France. (SDA)
