“Not up to par”: One less great rival for Ponti at the world swimming championships

At the European Championships in Rome, Kristof Milak (middle), Noè Ponti (left) were still in front of the sun – the Hungarian has to give up for the World Cup.

Hungary’s Kristof Milak will not compete in the World Aquatics Championships in Fukuoka, Japan, which take place July 14-30. The Olympic champion in the 200 m dolphin and world record holder over this distance is one of the great rivals of Noè Ponti (22) from Ticino.

Milak, 23, justified his waiving of the World Cup on social media by saying he is currently “physically and mentally unable to swim with the best in the world”. There are also three world titles on his record. (SDA)
