The German midfielder, who played nine seasons at the white club, ends rumors of a possible free transfer this summer

Club midfielder Real Madrid Toni Kroos, whose contract expired this month, renewed this Wednesday with the white club until the end of next season, according to a statement issued by the merengue entity.

“Real Madrid and Toni Kroos have agreed to extend the player’s contract, which remains tied to the club until June 30, 2024,” the Madrid team announced on their website.

This is how both Real Madrid and the football player dispelled rumors of a possible departure without costs this summer, since his contract expired on June 30. However, the German will also integrate a midfield next season with Luka Modric, Tchouameni, Camavingo, Ceballos, Fede Valverde and, now, Bellingham.

After the departure of Casemiro and Tchouameni, who is still in the adjustment process, Kroos has been able to adapt to the position of the center, a position he has occupied on numerous occasions this season. With the arrival of Bellingham and the explosion of Camavinga last year, his ownership would not be assured, although his weight in the locker room is key, and one of his big supporters is Carlo Ancelotti.

Kroos signed for Real Madrid in 2014 and in his nine seasons won 20 titles: 4 league titles, 5 Club World Cups, 4 European Super Cups, 3 Leagues, 1 Copa del Rey and 3 Spanish Super Cups. In addition, he is already the German player who has defended the merengue jersey the most times and is the 23rd in the club’s history, with 417 games.
