Suspicion of cousin: the police raid the Olympic Committee in Paris

13 months before the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games (July 26 to August 11, 2024), police raided the headquarters of the organizing committee in Saint-Denis, north of Paris, on Tuesday morning.

The Olympic OK confirms the raid to the French news agency AFP. The investigation will involve anti-corruption investigators and officials from the Paris Ministry of Finance.

According to the German news agency, in addition to the searches in the Olympic office, there was also a raid in Solideo. This body is responsible for the Olympic buildings in Paris.

Preliminary research already in 2017

There were already preliminary investigations from 2017 and 2022. The accusation: nepotism and misappropriation of public funds with a view to awarded contracts.
