Jose, from UD Ourense: “I’ve always considered myself a hard-working striker”

Jose Perez Atrio (Ourense2003) entered through the door Pavilion CF at 5 years old. After rising through his training categories, he also attracted the interest of two other quarries with a large national impact, such as Celtic and that from I picked up. Returning home, in his first senior year, he decided on the project The UD Ourense.

“I learned a lot in all the teams, but here I was very happy all last year, they counted on me and I didn’t think twice when they told me about the possibility of renewal,” qualifies the young footballer, who was a regular in Jorge De Dios’ lineups, although missed the game in the last leg, due to a shoulder injury, which also recurred just before the promotion game against Arousa, in which he could not participate: «I had bad luck, he showed up on the day of Brod and, when it seemed that he could return, he appeared again at one of the training sessions before the playoffs».

All in all, the campaign can only be positive for the young player who had the chance to make significant progress in his year at O ​​Cout: “It was a good season, day after day he was very good, the whole team and both, Jorge, like Toni, they are young coaches who have very clear ideas.”

The confirmed renewal of Jose, joins other more experienced footballers such as Varo and Pablo Corzo, which also gives the foundations to the Ourensanistas project, with a fairly consolidated team, in which there are several young players with room for improvement, like Pérez Atrio himself: “Above all, I think about this second year to continue to gain confidence and establish myself in the team.” He looks forward to the challenge of helping with the pressure as well as finding the target, a vitamin for players like him. In any case, he is willing: “I feel very comfortable in this team, I have no problem helping whatever the coach asks of me, I have always considered myself a hard-working striker.”

The attacker has no doubts that it will be a very interesting campaign, in a tournament that promises great emotions from the beginning: «It will be very difficult, because there are several teams that will have an important level. We have already had a taste of what the playoffs are and now we want to enjoy another one as soon as possible.

In the end, Jose played 27 of 30 regular league games, missing the finals due to injury. In 21 of them, he started and finished with 5 goals, with performances that showed his great potential on the field.
