The fall on Sunday morning in the warm-up is the last straw. In the fifth fall, Marquez broke a finger and shortly after canceled the race.

The Sachsenring actually suits the Spaniard, Marquez won the prize at the German GP in the royal class eight times in a row from 2013 to 2021. He also missed the race last year injured.

On Sunday afternoon Jorge Martin wins at the Sachsenring and twice after his sprint victory on Saturday. The Italian Francesco Bagnaia and the Frenchman Johann Zarco complete the podium. (jsl)
