Carlos Mouriz is considering terminating the contract with several Racing players

Carlos Mouriz, Racing’s sporting director, emphasized, at least since his arrival at the Ferrol football club, that he respects what was signed in the contract. However, the special circumstances of Racing’s entry into the professional football league will force him to make unwanted but necessary decisions. It will be a difficult moment for him, because this team gave everything for the club, although he will have no other choice because the future of Racing is at stake. The idea he is considering is to terminate the contract with a monetary compensation for one of the players with the current contract.

Of course, in order to bring reinforcements and have a competitive team with which to place themselves in the silver category of Spanish football, they need free tokens. Currently, from the defense, Aitor Pascual, Brais Martínez, Luca Ferrone, David Castro, Fernando Pumar and Quique Fornos have valid contracts. There is talk of the return of Enola Coto, if Sporting de Gijón does not stay with him, and even the renewal of Jon García. In addition, Argentine Tomás Bourdal has a renewal option. In other words, the same defense as this season, without room to bring in any reinforcements, despite the fact that they will be competing in a higher category.

It is clear that in this plot Carlos Mouriz will have to negotiate the termination of the contract with several players. It is the field that will have to be strengthened, both in the position of defenders and in the position of central defenders, considering the quality of attackers in the new category.

In midfield, Jesús Bernal and Álex López are under contract and Fran Manzanara is under consideration for renewal. As in defense, there is another position that the club will have to strengthen, and with Bernal, Alex and Manzanar, only one central midfielder would be free.

In the attack of Carlos Vicente and Héber Pena, which has just been renewed, two players have been called upon to maintain a leading role in the team.
