The best Swiss handball player of the year is Nikola Portner.

Although 29-year-old Portner missed the successful defense of the Bundesliga title with his club, he can still crown the season with Magdeburg in the Champions League Final Four tournament next weekend. For this reason, he did not personally accept the prize at the gala evening in Baden.

The prize for the women went to Kerstin Kündig. The 29-year-old backcourt made the double in the German Bundesliga with Bietigheim. She received the top award for the fourth time in a row and fifth time overall.
