It is a hard blow for the FCZ in the middle of the selection planning for the new season: As announced by Blick, FCZ sports director Marinko Jurendic (45) and the head of development/training Heinz Moser (55) will transfer to the FC Augsburg.

FC Zurich confirmed this on Wednesday afternoon. Jurendic has signed a contract with FCA until 2026. “For me, the move to FC Augsburg and the Bundesliga is the next step in my development and a great challenge,” says the 45-year-old.

Jurendic is looking forward to the 15th of the last Bundesliga season. “Not only has he worked successfully as a sports director, but through his own active time as a player, his coaching activities, as a skilled football player and his club work and pedagogical training, he has very good qualifications and experience, which he successfully brings to our team.” says General Director Sport Stefan Reuter.

The position of head of sport is created for Jurendic in Ausgburg. Until now, transfers have been the responsibility of Reuter. As head of sports and member of the board, Jurendic is now responsible for the professional team and the youth academy. Moser becomes Head of Development. The Jurendic/Moser duo was largely responsible for Zurich’s championship team in 2022. Now they are moving on to the Bundesliga together.
