Ana Peleteiro returns to international competition after maternity leave

The record holder from Ribeirense will perform again fifteen months later and lead the Spanish team at the European Team Championship in Silesia (Poland).

Olympic medalist Ana Peleteiro will be the captain of the Spanish team in European team championshipreappearance fifteen months after maternity leave. The Galician jumper thus rejoins the competition after becoming a mother in December will be part of the Spanish list for a big European date.

The RFEA highlights Peleteiro as “one of the great standard bearers of Spanish athletics with an Olympic medal, another world indoor championship, a European medal and two more continental indoor ones”.

Among the other names on the list presented by the Association are: Mohammed Katir in the 1,500 meters, the distance in which the Murcian won bronze last summer at the World Athletics Championships in Oregon, or Thierry Ndikumwenayowho will make his 5000m debut with the Spanish national team in Silesia after bettering his 13-minute mark in the last World Cup.

Likewise, names like that of Martha Serranothe Madrid athlete who broke the Spanish sub23 record in the 3000 meters with obstacles, a test in which he will compete in the same way at the Silesian European Championship.
