Fabian Rieders (21) was peppered with highlights last year: the World Cup selection by national coach Murat Yakin, the A debut in the opening game against Cameroon and then the basic premiere against Brazil. At YB he is a regular and wins the double with the Berner.

Abroad for a while
The young Nati has close ties with FC Solothurn: “FC Solothurn means a lot to me. I switched there when I was ten and spent a lot of time there (until U15, editor’s note), found many colleagues and even in difficult times many people supported me there.”
Rieder then admits that he went abroad for two days: “To be honest, I was in Milan with my girlfriend for two more days. But that is also close by, you can get there by train in three hours.”
