Nino Schurter reaches the next milestone in his glorious career at the home World Championships in Lenzerheide. The 37-year-old Graubünden achieved his 34th World Cup victory in Olympic cross-country, making him the most successful mountain biker in World Cup history. Schurter is now the sole record holder ahead of his former French arch-rival Julien Absalon.
The Swiss triumphed about 15 seconds ahead of South Africa’s Alan Hatherly and France’s Jordan Sarrou. Mathias Flückiger – who briefly formed a top duo with Schurter – had to settle for 12th place, three places behind Thomas Litscher and one place ahead of Lars Forster. (SDA)
