Alessandra Keller reached the podium in the short race at the home World Championships in Lenzerheide.

Alessandra Keller (27) takes second place in the Short Race at the Mountain Bike World Cup in Lenzerheide. Just like last year, the Nidwaldener had to admit defeat to Jenny Rissveds from Sweden.

For Rissveds it is even the third victory in a row. On the final lap, she left her pursuers behind and crossed the finish line two seconds ahead of Keller, who sprinted ahead of France’s Pauline Ferrand-Prévot. As the second Swiss woman in the top 10, Sina Frei finished in 8th place.

Nino Schurter has bad luck in the fall

In the men’s four drivers are classified in the top 10, but all in the bottom half. Mathias Flückiger is the best in sixth place, Lars Forster, Vital Albin and Marcel Guerrini are 7th, 9th and 10th.

Nino Schurter is knocked to the ground in the eighth of ten rounds when New Zealander Samuel Gaze falls. The 37-year-old finished in 16th place.

The race is won by Germany’s Luca Schwarzbauer, who topped the podium at this year’s Swiss Cup in Gränichen. (SDA/nsa)
