On May 6, countless royals and heads of state from all over the world will gather in London for the coronation of King Charles III. to celebrate. Among the VIPs will be at least one Swiss: Federal President Alain Berset (51). According to various media reports, he has received an invitation to the exclusive event at Westminster Abbey.

London’s House of Worship, opposite Parliament, has been the coronation site for British monarchs for centuries.

His spokeswoman told Blick it is not yet possible to confirm whether the Federal President will use the trip to Britain to hold talks with the British government.

In addition to Alain Berset, many other heads of state have been invited to the coronation, such as French President Emmanuel Macron (45) or Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese (60). US President Joe Biden (80) is represented by his wife Jill Biden (71).

The king loves the mountains

King Charles appreciates and knows Switzerland. Since 1977 he travels to Davos to ski again and again. His sons Prince William (40) and Prince Harry (38) also made their first attempts on skis in the Swiss Alps as children.
