Juso chairman Nicola Siegrist (26) is angry. “It cannot be the case that you have been pocketing it for years and then, if everything goes wrong, the taxpayer pays for the costs,” says the Zurich resident to Blick.
He is not alone in his anger. The Young Socialists want to take to the streets today because of the takeover of CS by UBS. On social media, the fledgling party called for a demo on Zurich’s Paradeplatz under the slogan “Stop rip-off”. She received permission from the city police on Monday morning.
In addition to the Jusos, the Young Greens, the Zurich Greens, the feminist strike collective and other organizations are taking part in the rally. The meeting is at 6 p.m. at Paradeplatz. The first speeches are scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

The purpose of the rally is to highlight misconduct by bank executives and hold those responsible accountable, says Siegrist. He also locates it in politics.
«Of course, the (former) managers and the board of directors of CS are primarily responsible for the massive failures. But the civil parties are also guilty. They have always prevented the banks from being more closely regulated and monitored.” (sq)
