The meeting discussed, among other things, the role of the Court of Justice of the EU (CJEU) in institutional matters. Sefcovic’s statements on this were “very clear and harsh”, namely that the ECJ was “the sole arbiter for EU law”, Bischof said.
What is new is that Sefcovic mentioned exceptions in certain areas and not just safeguard clauses. Because safeguard clauses can be assumed to be temporary.
