The federal government is taking action against incorrectly billed Covid 19 tests: in one case, it has now claimed CHF 1.6 million back for allegedly incorrect billing, as the Federal Office of Health (BAG) announced on Thursday.

The BAG has not provided any further information about the case or the service provider involved. The agency is seeking reimbursement of bills allegedly issued in error in connection with testing costs, it said. The decision to do so was not final.

In another case, the authority initiated criminal proceedings. To whom she did not reveal. In this case, the processing of invoices for test costs is also discussed.

Sometimes billed twice

During the corona pandemic, some test centers invoiced incorrectly or twice. In September, financial control reprimanded the federal government for not doing enough to curb the abuse. In 2020 and 2021, the federal government funded test costs amounting to 2.7 billion francs. He took over the costs, which were declared to the health insurer. (SDA)
