The trend researchers of the think tanks identify the challenges and focus on five themes: Switzerland in the world, impeded participation, difficulties in obtaining information, rapid crises and democratic fatigue. The working document was published Friday, according to a statement.

The paper “Construction Site Democracy” was presented by the Mercator Switzerland Foundation and the Swiss non-profit organization. The Swiss think tanks (think tanks) Avenir Suisse, Denknetz, Dezentrum, Foraus, Gottlieb Duttweiler Institute GDI, Institut Neue Schweiz INES and Reatch were involved.

The think tanks jointly identify the challenges, but individually answer the question of what measures are needed.
