At the Epiphany reception of the Mitte party on Friday in Bern, Pfister presented the goals for the election year to the media. However, he did not want to mention a fixed percentage that the center must achieve – that was created with the merger of the CVP and BDP.
If the center can mobilize the core electorate and win over new voters, they will come close to or surpass the result of the merger, Pfister said. He expects profits in the large cantons in the Mittelland. There, the new name made it easier to access the party.
At the same time, it must be possible not to lose in the CVP’s home countries, he said and was convinced that this would work. The CVP has changed its name to Mitte in all 26 cantons, but has a double name in Obwalden and Uri.
