Installation of a turbine of the back-up power station in Birr AG. The Federal Council approved and put into effect the regulation for the operation of such systems. (archive image)

This governs the operation of the systems designated for the reserve for the period from Thursday (December 22) to May 31, 2023, as announced by the Federal Office of Energy. Limit values of the Clean Air Ordinance and the limitation of the number of operating hours are temporarily lifted for the systems.

The Department for Environment, Transport, Energy and Communication (UVEK) specifies individual measures to limit noise and air pollutants in the operating permits for the installations.
