They are a nuisance to local residents: car posers. Anyone who repeatedly deliberately makes a lot of noise with their vehicle to attract attention should be punished more severely in the future. That has been decided by the Bundesrat.
Only first offenders should be warned. If he commits another offense within two years of this warning, there is a risk that his driving license will be revoked for at least a month. Incidentally, it is not necessary for third parties to be endangered by the noise, the Federal Council writes.
Tuning is made more difficult
The federal government also wants to create the legal basis to financially support the cantons to carry out more traffic noise controls.
The Federal Council is also proposing a ban on replacement silencers for vehicles such as motorcycles, which lead to higher noise emissions than the components originally installed. Likewise, the registration of correspondingly modified vehicles should be prohibited. (SDA/sf)
