According to the investigation by a law firm from Bern, there were no criminally relevant facts, the Federal Public Service Defence, Civil Protection and Sport (DDPS) announced on Thursday.
But not everything goes well with that. Because internal instructions had been violated, the report recommended increased awareness and a new approval authority. “These recommendations will be implemented,” assures the DDPS of Federal Councilor Viola Amherd (60).
Paid 5,000 francs a month
The administrative inquiry was put into use in February of this year. According to the announcement, the subject of the review was the conclusion of a service contract between a then top manager of the Federal Intelligence Service (NDB) and an external person for consultancy work.
The external person received remuneration of CHF 5,000 per month for their consultancy work for approximately two years. In addition, there were expenses of CHF 6,875, which were paid to the external person during this period. (SDA)
