According to interim results of the State Chancellery, 27,190 votes were received for the Grand Council’s counter-proposal, while 15,495 voters voted against. That corresponds to a yes majority of 63.7 percent.
The initiative of the left-green circles also received a yes majority of 56.2 percent with 24,169 against 18,847 votes. It would have set the 2030 target year for net zero emissions. However, on the key question, 25,025 voters (62.4 percent) ticked the counter-proposal, while 15,109 (37.7 percent) favored the initiative.
In Basel-Stadt, the share of postal votes accounts for more than 95 percent of all votes. The trend reports are therefore considered to be very reliable. The final result will be announced around 2.30 pm. (SDA)
