The Federal Council approved the regulation on reporting on climate issues. Public companies, banks and insurance companies with at least 500 employees and a balance sheet total of CHF 20 million or more or a turnover of more than CHF 40 million must report publicly.

The Federal Council wrote that large companies making transparent how their activities affect the climate are central to the functioning of markets and climate sustainability in the financial sector.
