Healthcare costs in Switzerland are likely to continue to rise in the coming years. The ETH’s Economic Research Center (KOF) estimates they will increase by another 3.6 percent next year.
Only in 2024 will the growth trend slow down slightly. In the forecast published on Tuesday, the KOF expects a somewhat flattened growth of “only” 3.1 percent.
It’s heading towards 100 billion
Expressed in Swiss francs, this means that Swiss health care costs will rise next year from 89.5 billion to 92.7 billion, ie by another 3.2 billion. By 2024, they are expected to rise to 95.6 billion.
Expenditure per capita in the current year is CHF 10,190. According to the KOF forecast, they will rise to CHF 10,416 in the coming year and then to CHF 10,612 in 2024. (SDA)
