‘Friends of the Constitution’ in danger of being dissolved

The “Friends of the Constitution” was founded in July 2020 and now it may be coming to an end.

The “Friends of the Constitution” association is about to collapse. On Sunday evening, seven members of the Friends of the Constitution announced their resignation from the board – “due to irreconcilable differences”. As a result, the organization will lose all active service providers that have made the club successful, the statement said.

The reason for the move were “irreconcilable differences,” Prisca Guanter, former co-chair of the association, Christina Rüdiger, Agnès Aedo, Sandro Meier and Oliver Martin, wrote in a statement on Sunday.

The communiqué bore the association’s logo. It was also signed by advisory board members Marion Russek and Timon Boehm. They also give up their positions.

Three remaining members on the board

As of next Friday, the board of directors will consist of only three members. He can no longer act. With the dismissal, the organization will lose “all the toppers that are still active”.

The three other members of the Board of Directors initially did not comment. Her retiring board colleagues wrote that they thought it useful to dissolve the association. According to the announcement, new elections are also conceivable as an alternative.

It is proposed to distribute the remaining association capital among the organizations “Action Alliance Urkantone”, “Teacher Network”, “Aufrecht Switzerland”, “Juristenkomitee” and “Aletheia”, the retiring party wrote.

Pandemic sparked a revival

It is not the first quarrel among the board members. The association announced the resignation of its spokesman Michael Bubendorf in mid-December. Co-chair Werner Boxler also left the “Friends of the Constitution” at the end of the year.

The next blow came in January. Almost all board members indicated that they had turned their backs on the Corona Skeptics Association. However, Christina Rüdiger, who has since announced her resignation, has stayed.

In July 2020, the “Friends of the Constitution” was established. The association became nationally known for its criticism of the corona measures during the pandemic and the two referendums against the Covid 19 law. (SDA/hr)
