Nearly a thousand people gathered for a farmers’ protest in Kerzers FR on Friday evening. Police said the march, which also involved tractors, was peaceful and broke up around 9:30 p.m.
According to the information, those present wanted to send a “wake-up call to the government, politicians and market players”. Rally participants gathered on private property around 7 p.m.
More than 400 vehicles
They traveled mainly by tractors. Ultimately, approximately 420 vehicles from the canton of Fribourg and neighboring cantons arrived in Kerzers.
As the Freiburg cantonal police announced, the participants came from agricultural circles. The authorities had been aware of the demonstration since Thursday.
Peasant protests in many European countries
In collaboration with the organizers, the police ensured that there were no major traffic disruptions, especially in the lake area. According to police reports, no incidents occurred.
