National councilor Marionna Schlatter (ZH), grand councilor Samantha Bourgoin (TI) and national councilor Michael Töngi (LU) are now running for vice-president, according to the party. From the previous vice presidency, National Councilor Nicolas Walder (GE), National Councilor Sibel Arslan (BS) and co-president of the Young Greens Margot Chauderna (FR) are running for a new two-year term.
The Greens were happy that very committed, fresh but also proven people would run for president, according to a statement on Monday. The candidates will appear at various events throughout Switzerland to maintain exchanges with members and other interested parties, as the Greens also announced.
The new presidium around Mazzone will be elected on April 6. (SDA)
